GPA Calculator

Add your courses with credit hours and grades to get a weighted GPA. Works with the US 4.0 and 4.3 scales, the 10-point scale, Pakistan's HEC scale, or plain percentages. Runs entirely in your browser, nothing is saved or sent anywhere.

How this works

Each course's grade is converted to grade points for the scale you've selected, multiplied by its credit hours, then divided by the total credit hours — the standard weighted-GPA formula used by most universities. If you add a previous gpa and credit total, the cumulative gpa combines it with this term's courses using the same weighting, so a heavier previous course load correctly counts for more than a lighter one.

One honest caveat: grading scales genuinely differ between universities, even within the same country and the same nominal scale. Pakistan's HEC scale above is the version most semester-based universities follow, but some shift a cutoff by a point or two, and India's 10-point scale has several different letter-to-point tables in use across institutions. Check your own university's official conversion table if your transcript needs to match exactly — this tool uses the most common version of each scale.

GPA only counts once you are enrolled. To estimate your admission aggregate instead, use the university merit calculators.

Frequently asked questions

Which GPA scales does this calculator support?

The US 4.0 and 4.3 scales, India's 10-point scale, Pakistan's HEC scale, and percentages.

How is GPA calculated?

Each course's grade is converted to grade points, multiplied by its credit hours, and the total is divided by the total credit hours. This is the standard weighted GPA formula.

Can I calculate my cumulative GPA (CGPA)?

Yes. Add your previous term's GPA and credit total, and the calculator combines it with the current term using the same credit-hour weighting.

Will the result match my university's transcript exactly?

Not always. Grading scales differ between universities even on the same nominal scale. The tool uses the most common version of each scale, so check your university's official conversion table if you need an exact match.
